Everything you need to know about Go Go Ackman

GameBoy Go Go Ackman - Titulo del juego - You tube

Go Go Ackman was a short manga series started around 1993 by Akira Toriyama, who we all know as the creator of Dragon Ball. The manga was gag style. If there are other people who have seen Dr. Slump, the drawing style and the humor style are similar. Come on! Come on! Ackman was relatively popular and spawned a few video games, this being one of them. This game was released in 1994 for the Super Famicom system.

If you are familiar with the manga, then you should know how the game will turn out. You control Ackman, a kind of demon child who collects souls to give to the Devil. Their enemies are the Angel Army. This game is pretty much you fighting the angels and their attempts to stop you. You are accompanied by a small flying monster named Goodon, who collects the souls of enemies you kill on the screen.

Go Go Ackman Gameplay

This is the most important part of the game. The gameplay of this game is nothing new. This is a Super Mario type of game. It's a jump, attack, and side-scrolling game, and the goal is to reach the end of the level. Ackman has an energy bar. After about 4 or 5 hits from an enemy, they die and you only have a limited number of lives for the entire game.

Along the way, they added some interesting features. Ackman, in addition to his basic attack, which is a Punch/Kick, can collect weapons to use. These include a boomerang, a gun and a sword. However, if Ackman is hit once by an enemy, he loses the weapon. As I said, Ackman also has the use of Bombs that kill everything on the screen. However, you can only carry 3 of these at a time.

Goodon follows him throughout the game. If you collect 100 souls (i.e. kill 100 enemies), you get an extra life. However, bosses give you more souls. And speaking of bosses, this game has a few, about 10 I would say that appear at the end of most stages. There are also a few different stages where you can use a car and a flying cloud which keep this game from being too repetitive.

Like I said, beyond all the extravagance, it's mostly just typical platforming stuff. Run, jump, kick and punch. It even has the obligatory useless points system pioneered by Super Mario Bros. that every other platformer seems to have. Come on, does anyone really care how many points they got in SMB? But you still tried to get to the top of the flag to get those 5000 points. Well, at least Go Go Ackman keeps that great tradition alive.

Objects

Throughout your search, you can choose a few things to help you:

Gun: This power-up allows you to fire a weapon as an attack until you are hit.

Boomerang-Blade: this allows you to throw a spinning blade until you hit it.

Bomb: This gives you a bomb. You can have a maximum of 3. Throwing one damages or destroys everything on the screen.

Heart: This recharges a health container.

Bottle of beer (!): This recharges all the vessels in your life.

Bonus levels

Challenge

You start with 4 life containers, two lives and it continues infinitely. Every time you are hit, a health container is emptied. If you die before reaching the mini-boss, you start from the beginning; If you die after, you start in the middle. It doesn't take much to die and the levels are quite long. One thing that adds to the challenge is the fact that enemies respawn the instant you pass the screen they were on and will come back to attack you from behind if you stay in one place for too long. Add that to the fact that you are also being attacked from the front and even from the skies; and things get complicated fast.

O tal vez simplemente apesto. Juega y descúbrelo.

Graphics

These are fun and colorful graphics. They portray the manga very well. And yes, yes, Ackman looks like a miniature Trunks from Dragon Ball. The graphics are very cartoony and fun, which is how they should be. The level designs and backgrounds are very diverse.

Music and Sound

I like the sound of the game, for some reason. Bright and catchy tunes are found throughout the entire game and are quite well done. The upbeat tunes, played throughout, really capture the spirit of the game, for some reason. Even the sound effects don't seem to be too annoying... in fact, they're quite well done.

Final reflection

This is a good game, but it is a very short game. You can win this game in 40 minutes. I recommend this game mainly for those who liked the manga. Otherwise, this is a pretty average game. Not to mention this game is only in Japanese and needs to be imported for those who don't live there.
