Everything you need to know about Alex Kidd BMX Trial
Alex Kidd BMX Trial (?????????BMX??????) Alex Kidd BMX Trial was released in Japan on November 15, 1987. It was released as a licensed version of Mattel's toy, a BMX bike with a motor attached. The game was only released on the Master System, not the SG-1000. This game is rare due to its licensed nature. Priced at 9,800 yen, which was the same price as the Sega Master System itself, this game was a bit expensive for the average family looking for a new video game system.
The game consists of two modes, a Time Attack mode and a Survival mode. In Time Attack mode you play against the clock, trying to be the first person to complete a course and reach the boss at the end. The bosses in this game are not real bosses, but rather a BMX course that you must complete. On the second difficulty level it is a little easier because the bosses are not as difficult as on the first difficulty level. The game also has a password feature for the game to save your high scores which you can upload at any time.
BMX: Alex Kidd is a Japanese exclusive game in which Alex Kidd rides a BMX. Old racing games are really hit or miss these days, they can be a perfect game to pick up and play for a short time or they are almost impossible to play. This game came with a special controller and I think it can't be played if you don't have this special paddle pad. The game formula is quite basic, you use one button to accelerate and another to brake. The goal is to find an exit on the race track and then move on to another stage. You lose health every time you collide with an enemy or obstacle on the stage, and it's game over when you run out of life.
Alex Kidd BMX gameplay
Alex Kidd BMX Trial is a motorcycle racing game where Alex Kidd must finish 10 tracks to access the final boss. A total of 4 characters are available, Alex Kidd, Katie Buzz, Noddy Moogley and his dog Rollo. The game revolves around the player controlling Alex to drive his motorcycle through different tracks and mini-games. The gameplay of the game is quite simple and consists of making sharp turns with the handlebars of the motorcycle, as well as performing tricks to earn more acceleration and maximum speed points.
Additionally, you will have to avoid obstacles such as cars, trucks and other cyclists. As you progress through the tracks, you will unlock new stages that will allow you to reach the boss stage at the end of the tracks. The game is divided into two modes: Time Attack Y Survival. In Time Attack you must complete several races within a time limit, while in Survival you must compete against an increasing number of opponents until they all eventually disappear due to running out of lives (of which there are 5-6 in each race).
There are five stages in total, and the ultimate goal is to reach Radxian Castle. If you know what you're doing, you can accomplish it in a couple of minutes. Until you memorize the correct path, you'll probably end up riding your bike in circles.
The stages are full of rocks, trees, cacti and other obstacles that will cause Alex to fall off his bike and lose some life. The exception is a level that takes place above ocean waves, where you ride on some type of flotation device and must avoid whirlpools.
There are several opponents in the race, but they only exist to get Alex out of the way. Unfortunately, they are quite aggressive and there is no direct way to fight them. When you run out of health you lose the game. Scattered throughout the stages are wheelie ramps, which will grant Alex invincibility for about a second while he wheelies and jumps off the ramps, allowing Alex to briefly jump into the sky. Power-ups include onigiri to restore health, clocks to reset the timer, and jetpacks that allow you to fly.
Alex looks the same as in Miracle World , although the enemies, including tigers and kappa imps, are all new. The background details are fun, like the colorful faces on the trees and the ridiculous looking exits.
Graphics
The first problem of this game is that there is no goal in the stages, but you can miss the exit and continue on the stage without knowing it. Since there are several paths to follow, you should try to remember which path you should choose to reach the exit as quickly as possible. This is more my personal opinion, but I think a game should reward you for exploring a setting, not punish you for it.
Music and Sound
Finally, PSG's music consists of short loops that pierce your ears and quickly irritate you.
Final reflection
Alex Kidd It changes genres once again, this being a bike racing game. However, it is quite unusual, as there is no ranking and the only time limit involves reaching the end within 24 hours of the game. The goal of each race is simply to find the exit. Although the screen scrolls vertically, each stage is several screens wide and repeats continuously until you find a tunnel to the next area. Most levels have multiple exits, each of which will take you to a different level from the others.
