Alex Kidd in Miracle World (????????????????? Arekkusu Kiddo no Mirakuru W?rudo?, lit. «Alex Kidd in Mission World»), a game of Master System [known as Sega Mark III in Japan], was developed by Sega. It first went on sale in Japan on November 1, 1986, and was later distributed in Europe in 1987.
It is the most famous of the Alex Kidd games and the first of six. The player controls Alex Kidd as he fights through 17 missions to free the planet Aries from the clutches of Janken the Great, a despotic ruler. The game features obstacles and enemies, as well as items to collect.
Brief History Alex Kidd in Miracle World
What happen?
Many centuries ago on the planet Aries, there lived a boy named ALEX KIDD. For 7 years he lived on Mount Eternal studying Shellcore, an ancient art that makes one so strong that they can break rocks into pieces.
One day, while leaving the mountain, he encountered a dying man who told him that the peaceful city of Radaxian was in grave danger. Before he breathed his last, the man gave Alex a piece of the map and a medallion made of the sunstone.
What does this all mean? The only way to find out is to travel through the Miracle World searching for the answers.

Gameplay of Alex Kidd in Miracle World
Aries (????? Ariesu-sei in the Japanese version), is the home planet of Alex kidd. Right now, Mount Eternal (???????????? Jan Sheldon Mountain) is where Alex Kidd studies Shellcore (???? Burokken), a skill that makes him strong enough to break rocks into pieces . Upon leaving the mountain, a dying man gives him a map and the Sun Stone medallion, which take him to the city of Radaxian (?????? Radakushan). Therefore, Alex Kidd undertakes a search through Miracle World.
After defeating Gooseka (G?suka in Japanese), Alex Kidd encounters San Nurari Island (Nurai Sennin in Japanese). Nurari tells Saint Nurari that Alex is the prince of Radaxian and was once kidnapped by an evil lord, but that his homeland is now ruled by Janken the Great (? in Japanese), who subjugates the people. He asks Alex to save them from him.
Alex travels to the city of Namui, where he meets a lord who says that Alex's twin brother, Egle, is imprisoned in Radaxian Castle. Alex then heads to Radaxian Castle, defeating Chokkina and Parplin on his way. Alex goes to the Nibana Kingdom to save his brother. He says that he needs to find the personal letter that the Nibana Kingdom (?? Nibana) sent him, and the moonlight medallion, which is outside the kingdom. After defeating Gooseka, he takes the castle letter and leaves.
After defeating Chokkina, Alex heads to the city. There, he speaks with the Stone King, asking him to send him to the Lake of Rocks so he can recover his golden crown. After defeating Parplin, Alex enters Janken Castle and fights him to obtain the Moonlight Medallion. After defeating Janken, Alex finds Princess Lora (who says that Patricia's care is in good hands) and, after that, discovers Patricia (who has been properly cared for). Afterwards, Alex heads to the lake of rocks and collects the golden crown, thus ending the game.
This platform game is based on overcoming 2D challenges in varied environments to win. It includes strategy and role-playing components, but the bulk of the action takes place on the ground. In this video game, Alex Kidd is the only character who can jump and break rocks. As a result, more skill is required to overcome the various stages. The video game includes 17 stages, each of which has a different feel. At the end of some stages, Alex Kidd must defeat a boss using rock-paper-scissors (a Japanese version of the Janken). At the end of each stage, Alex Kidd can eat a food item to finish the stage.

His family and friends include: King Thunder, Alex's real father, Saint Nurari, Alex's spiritual father; Patricia, Alex's mother; Eagle, Alex's twin brother: High Stone, King of Nibana and Princess Lora, Egle's fiancee. Sometimes, you can summon these people to help you.
- Alex

- Janken the Great
- Parplin
- Chokkinna
- Gooseka
You will soon discover that Janken the Great, emperor of the planet Janbarik, is your enemy. Their plan is to invade the beautiful city of Radaxian and rule forever. Janken The Great took his name from his experience in the game of Janken? better known in the Western world as the game of scissors, paper and rock.
Like all diabolical leaders, Janken the Great has an army of devoted followers, Parplin the pursuer, Chokkina the cunning, and Gooseka the slippery. Furthermore, Janken has many assistants from the animal world? such as a monstrous bird, a sea horse, a bat, a monkey, a frog and many others.
In order for you to stop Janken the Great from taking over Radxian, you must travel through the Miracle World. defeating Janken and his followers as he finds them.
What is each thing?
the stone blocks
The Miracle World is built of millions of blocks of rocks. Hence the importance of a skill like Shellcore. You must use all of Alex's Shellcore skills to break the blocks and move through them. But you must be cautious. Not all blocks can be broken.
NOTE: In each place the blocks that cannot be destroyed have different colors. To discover those that cannot be broken press the button.
The treasures
There are five treasures that you will discover in various locations along the way. These treasures will help bring peace to Radaxian and their meanings will be revealed as the game progresses.
The treasures are:
- The Sun Stone medallion.
- The Moonlight Medallion.
- The Golden Crown? It has magical powers but cannot be obtained without the Moonstone
- The Hirotta Stone? It contains the key to the mysteries surrounding the crown.
- A personal letter from the kingdom of Nibana? Without this card, certain items will not be found.
The boxes
As Alex travels through the World of Miracles, he will discover several strange boxes. Each box has different contents and different powers. Some are beneficial, others are quite dangerous.
Here's what's inside each of the boxes:
- The bags of gold coins: the large bag contains 208. The small bag contains 108. ($ is the unit of currency exchange on the planet Aries).
- El poderoso Brazalete: úsalo para realizar el truco «Las impactantes olas de destrucción».
- Alex Kidd: You get an extra life.
- The Phantom: will try to possess you. So stay away from him.
- The Box of a Skull: Will make Alex nervous.
- The Box in Pink - Inside lies an important secret.
- The Pink Skull Box: Just jump on this one, or a ghost will come out and grab you.
The telepathy ball
This miracle ball lets you know what other people think. It is very valuable to you. Especially when you play the scissors/paper/rock game.
The store
Every time you see the store, don't miss the opportunity to buy some items. The shop contains many useful things that you can buy with the money you collected from the Gold Coin Bag box. Here's how to enter the store: Using the arrows, move Alex directly in front of the store entrance.
Graphics
Think about the moment of launch. Compare it to an NES game. Wow, the graphics look better and I paid 1/3 of the price. The graphics in this game now look very simple, but they hold their own against games that would later be released in the 8-bit format. There's really nothing to write home about, but everything looks a lot more polished compared to an NES game. For example, compare him to Megaman, Alex Kidd looks a little more complex in his design, as his makeup is 6 colors, as opposed to Megaman's 4. It may not seem like much on paper, but things are different in the game.
Music and Sound
These sound effects are pretty fun. Having grown up with arcade games, I was used to getting carried away by the sound effects, without laughing at how silly they were. The music was very catchy, sometimes it got stuck in your head, so they hummed it at school. The music, to this day, is still instantly recognizable to me (it could be my super powerful memory, but maybe not).
Final reflection
My friends say I'm too strict and that I should give out 9s left, right and center, but I think a game's rating should really reflect its quality. While this game is good, it's not great, and it's certainly not an absolute classic (A Sonic/Mario/Zelda). If you see it, buy it, as it is one of the best games on the system. However, your chances of finding a copy are very, very slim. You would have a better chance of finding an SMS2, and that might work out cheaper.
