Everything you need to know about Alien 3
Alien 3 (stylized as ALIEN³) is a run-and-gun video game based on the 1992 film of the same name. It was released for the Sega Genesis and Amiga in 1992, as well as in 1993 for the Commodore 64, Game Boy, Game Gear, Nintendo Entertainment System. (NES), Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and Master System. Probe Software created all versions except the Game Boy version, which was created by Bits Studios. Acclaim Entertainment distributed the game, and Virgin Interactive distributed the Amiga version exclusively in Europe.[2] Alien 3 received mostly positive reviews, with most critics praising its music and visuals.
Brief History Alien 3
The future is now
Spaceship SULACO, which carries the cryotubes in which Ripley, Newt and Hicks have been in a state of hypersleep, is being propelled through space when a malfunction occurs. In response to this malfunction, the ?brain? of SULACO expels the VEE which contains the cryotubes. We later discovered that not only the synthetic human, Bishop, was also on board, but an alien also managed to infest itself inside Ripley's body.
While the SULACO cae en picado sin poder hacer nada por el espacio, el EEV sale disparado de su bodega y se estrella en una sección aislada del planeta minero y «colonia penal», FIORINE 161. This is a place so dark, so gloomy, so deep in space that Fas has been almost forgotten by civilization and the salvation of its inhabitants seems impossible.
After the impact, the VEE is severely damaged and the cryotubes holding Newt and Hicks rupture, leaving them dead. Bishop, the android, is torn apart and reduced to negative ability, while Ripley is left unconscious but alive.
Ripley's worst fears have now come true. In fact, she has brought the aliens to FIORINA 161 and now they are growing in number and will eventually find a way to leave this barren planet and head to a more populated… more civilized world, Earth.
Ripley now takes on her most important task. You must rescue the alien's captives and then find and destroy the aliens themselves.
That knock... is the beating of your heart... as you prepare to face the aliens.

Alien 3 Gameplay
In Alien 3, players control Ellen Ripley, the film's protagonist, as she makes her way through the Fiorina 161 prison facility featured in the film. The player can jump, shoot, climb stairs, crawl through tunnels, open doors and use elevators in this side-scrolling run and gun game.
Compared to the movie, Ripley now has a large assortment of weapons to use against her enemies, including Aliens and Facehuggers. You can use pulse rifles, flamethrowers, and grenades as weapons. Motion trackers alert the player to potential enemies.
There are computer terminals scattered throughout the game, as well as plans of the prison layout. Different objectives are offered, including preventing the aliens from entering and rescuing the prisoners. The level ends if it is not finished before the time expires. Ripley fights the Alien Queen at the end of the game.
The Super Nintendo version includes six stages, but the Game Boy version only has four. The Sega Genesis version includes 15 stages. The Genesis version includes larger alien character models, as well as different visual design and settings. The Amiga version, which has 14 levels, is almost identical to the Genesis version, but the game is a little slower.
The Commodore 64 version, which is almost identical to the Amiga, has 15 levels. The level designs of the Commodore 64 version are slightly different than those of the Game Boy version. The Master System and Game Gear versions are almost identical. In the Game Boy version the game is played from a top-down perspective, unlike the other versions of the game.
Graphics
Considering when the game was made, I think these graphics are very well done. Ripley looks just like her in the movie, and all the aliens look very real and very similar compared to the movie. The background has a jail atmosphere like where Alien 3 takes place. You can see jail cells and people standing behind them in the background. I was pleasantly surprised by the graphics because I didn't think they could even come close to matching the movie. They did much better than I thought and I was pleased with these graphics.
Music and Sound
There really isn't too much music in this game, but what I've heard is good. More of this is the scurrying of aliens and their screeching after you burn them or shoot them dead. I liked that part at first; I thought it was really cool. However, the screaming gets a little annoying after a while. Imagine when a wave of ten aliens attacks you and you have to listen to that screech over and over again ten times. Makes you want to turn down the volume. However, you would have to play it for a while for that to affect you. Overall, however, the sound was tolerable.
Final reflection
Aliens, weapons, a great level to go through and blow up said aliens with said weapons. All very nice things. Very few games allow you to set an alien nest on fire with a flamethrower. Overall, this is a decent game, and there are some high points, but it falls short of a very good game.
