Everything you need to know about BioMetal
BioMetal Super Nintendo is a game developed, published and distributed by Althena for Super nintendo, which debuted in Japan on March 19, 1993 and was released the same year also in the United States and Europe by Activision. The game completely changes the music. This is an epic side-scrolling shooter with a style similar to the story of Thunder Force, although not too overloaded.
Brief BioMetal History
In the year 232 Galaxy Century (GC), the space war that divided the Milky Way and depleted the Galaxy's natural resources finally came to an end. Faced with this legacy of destruction, the Galactic Federation Council called an emergency meeting to decide how to rebuild the devastated region
The Council sent a development group in a special fleet to the planet UP457 in search of natural resources. The mission was unsuccessful when the fleet was wiped out by an unknown force.
A computer analysis revealed that the biometals They managed to take over their own production and continue to increase on planet UP457 at an alarming rate. If the production facility BioMetal is not destroyed in the next 32 hours, the Galactic Federation will be overthrown and the force of BioMetal will rule the Galaxy!
The only fleet capable of reaching BioMetal's headquarters on planet UP457 in time is that of WASP, a battleship currently testing a newly developed biological weapon. The Council has no choice! – You must send the mothership, MF-92GX Halbard, equipped with the Gel weapon Analog Mutant (GAM) never used before.
The Council appointed kid ray commander of the Halbard. He entered the force in galactic year 226. He was the Federation's most decorated ace pilot in Star Wars.
After the war, he was transferred to the WASP's GAM laboratory unit.

Anita She was appointed co-pilot. He earned a PhD in molecular biophysics at the age of 14. Her experience makes her a valuable asset to BioMetal's mission.

BioMetal's mission
Your mission is to destroy the biometal production facilities on planet UP457 before the biometals multiply into unstoppable masses.
Its MF-92GX Halbard fighter is equipped with a plasma rifle and a two-way missile. The Federation will provide in-flight weapons upgrades for these weapons during their mission via space capsules. When you get the weapon upgrades back from the pods, you'll gain increased power and accuracy by removing biometal generation in UP457.
The Halbard fighter is also loaded with the experimental GAM weapon. It serves as an offensive as well as a defensive aid to destroy the BioMetal Force. But use it sparingly: GAM is so powerful that it consumes energy quickly. Extensive research has shown that a Halbard pilot's performance increases at a rate of 99.9 % when accompanied by the accelerated pace of the newest technologically developed sounds. To ensure better fighter performance, the Halbard is equipped with a sound system that is programmed to automatically play 2 Unlimited® tracks during your BioMetal mission.
BioMetal Gameplay
Like most games of this side-scrolling shooting style, our task is to control the main ship that moves across the screen to destroy the enemies that appear. At the end of each level we will have to face the final bosses. . Weapon upgrades are obtained by destroying pods and collecting dropped upgrades, switching between different weapons like in Raiden. Some weapons that we will pick up during the game cancel each other out. The player also has a shield in the form of four orbs that rotate around the ship when activated. Charging energy is depleted when the shield is active. The shield can be used as a protective measure against enemy fire.
Graphics
The backgrounds look AWESOME. In the first stage, you are flying through a storm in space. The clouds behind you flash with lightning. The second stage is on a desert planet. The sand dunes look great and there is a moon hanging in the sky behind you. Good job, I think! All the enemies are practically gray battleships with insectoid faces. There are also a number of other enemy ships. The enemy designs could be better done, but they still look good. The weapon effects and explosions look good too.
Music and Sound
It's all techno style music, which sounds great. The explosions sound great, as do the gun firing effects, and the GAM sound effect is pretty nifty.
Final reflection
Generic story, but excellent gameplay and music, as well as above average graphics for the time. A fun side-scroller game, and definitely worth it just to have something to play.
