Everything you need to know about Dragon Ball Z Super Butouden
Developed by the video game company Bandai for the console Super nintendo, Dragon Ball Z Super Butouden Super nintendo (Dragon Ball Z: Super Fighting Story) is a video game based on the anime and manga series Dragon Ball Z by Akira Toriyama. This game is based on the anime and manga Dragon Ball Z by Akira Toriyama. In European territory (France and Spain), Dragon Ball Z is known as Dragon Ball Z: Super But?den.
Split screen was a revolutionary change in the video game industry. It allowed for great scenes to be created and gave players more opportunities to think strategically. The split screen bar displayed color based on the distance between the characters, and the radar (except for androids, which could hide their energy) detected the characters' energy.
In this game, moving away was the primary factor to execute the special abilities of the attack, which focused first on the attacker and then on the victim, who could defend themselves against them, return them (enter into an energy battle) or even absorb them in some android cases.
Brief History Dragon Ball Z Super Butouden
El juego representa las peleas reales en la historia de las peleas de campeonato contra «piccolo grand satan» hasta las peleas de los juegos de Cell contra todos los pequeños Cells.
On the dual screen, relive the great battles that pit a more mature Son Goku against his enemies and rivals. You can use two-player mode where you play against an opponent or championship mode that allows 8 players to participate.

Gameplay of Dragon Ball Z Super Butouden
The gameplay in Super Butouden is spectacular! The controls are precise and fluid, when you press a button and wait for a movement to be made BAM, there it is! You feel like you've become the Z fighter you've chosen to fight, you feel connected to the character. Run, jump, kick and punch, that's the standard Street Fighter II motto, Super Butouden improves on this by leaps and bounds by adding a split screen mode that allows you to get greater distance (if the battlefield is big enough) between you and your opponent.
You also have the ability to fly, charge up your power for super energy attacks, combo and counter any special. All characters have their own set of seven special moves (Goku has eight) and abilities, and they can all make any number of five blocks and counters for nearly unlimited new battles. This is also one of the first fighting games where strategy becomes an important factor, as either player can run away from direct confrontation and take a more unorthodox approach to fighting.
The addition of an option to set auto and turbo super moves or slow motion makes this game playable by almost anyone, without more buttons and thumb taps. The selection of characters is huge: Son-Goku, Vejita, Picollo, Freeza, Android #20, Android #16, Android #18, Cell. The selection of secret characters is also great: Super Saiya-jin Son-Goku, Super Saiya-Jin Vejita (my favorite!), Trunks, Super Saiya-Jin Son-Gohan, Perfect Cell, Mr. Satan. These are some of the best DBZ heroes and enemies from the first few hundred episodes. To top it off, the game manual is filled with wonderful illustrations by Akira Toriyama and images from the television series. as either player can shy away from direct confrontation and take a more unorthodox approach to fighting.
Graphics
Simply put, the fighters look amazing, while the backgrounds are very bad! Each fighter is highly detailed and looks like they just stepped out of the TV series (if you want to see what they look like in the comic, check out Hyper Dimension!). The animation is fluid, and if you pause the game, you'll have a hard time distinguishing these fighters from a real animation cel. However, the shitty backgrounds would give it away as a game. Most of the backgrounds are miserable, heck in Kami's hideout when you fly in the air there is no background at all just a white screen, ugh! The fighters are smaller in this Butouden than any other as well, so if you only have to have fighters that hog the big screen, you might prefer Butouden 2 or 3.
The special moves look great (although after you've seen them all done by one fighter, they look just like any other fighter) and add to the fun. The animation doesn't sound spectacular, but the little bonuses always seem to appear when you least expect it, like Picollo's arm being blown off and reforming.
Music and Sound
Probably the biggest downfall in gaming. The music is not bad but compared to any other DBZ game it is far, far away. The battle sounds are okay, but some of them are cheap kung-fu fighting sounds, not like the deep, booming sounds of the TV series. The audio's only saving grace is that each character's ki attack is announced in their own voice and actually sounds pretty good. On the other hand, anyone who has seen the original Dragon Ball knows that the show is also a comedy of sorts, if you look at it this way the funky sounds and music make a little more sense.
Final reflection
Well, this is definitely Butouden's weak point, as I enjoyed Super Butouden 2 and 3 much more. But it looks like it should be higher than a 6! Well, the controller messed up the gameplay, and the gameplay messed up the score, because gameplay is a very important factor in a game. If you enjoyed other games in the Butouden series, I recommend you give it a try. After all, many people liked this game more than I did. Maybe you like it.
