Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Sega Mega Drive Cheats
These are the tricks tested and that work 100%
Cheats 1: Level Selection
On the main screen go into options and select the option Sound Test, plays the songs in this order 19, 65, 09, 17, if you have done it correctly you will hear a sound.
Press Start to return to the main screen and press the buttons A+Start, you will be redirected to the level selection screen.
Cheats 2: Debug Mode
First you have to perform the level selection trick, from there enter Sound Test and play the songs in this order 1, 9, 9, 2, 1, 1, 2, 4, if you have done it correctly you will hear a sound. Select a zone and hold the button A until the level starts.
Note: Debug Mode does not work when playing as Tails.
Cheats 3: Night Mode
After performing the level selection and debug mode tricks, select a level on the selection screen and hold down the buttons C+Start until the level starts.
Tricks 4: Super Sonic
From the level selection cheat menu, enter Sound Test and play the songs in this order 04, 01, 02, 06, if you have done it right you will hear the sound of the chaos emerald. This cheat gives you the seven chaos emeralds, thus enabling Super Sonic.
Note: Sonic will transform into Super Sonic by collecting 50 rings and then jumping.
Cheats 5: Change from Tails to Miles
On the title screen press Up, Down, Down, Down, Up, this will make the name ?Tails? change to ?Miles?, except in the Japanese version where the opposite will occur.
Note: This also changes the trademark symbols of the Sega logo and title screen.
Tricks 6: 14 Continues
In the normal Sond Test (without the level selection trick) play the songs in this order 01, 01, 02, 04, if you have done it correctly you will hear a sound and you will start the game with 14 continues.
Note: For some reason the Oil Ocean Zone music will play throughout the game.
Cheats 7: Inaccessible Rings
In some levels there are rings in places that cannot be reached, this makes obtaining a Perfect Bonus in these stages impossible.
Cheats 8: Silent Mode
To be able to play without music or sound effects, go to the Sound Test and play song number 7E.
