These are the tricks tested and that work 100%
Tricks 1: Metal Gear Bandana
Complete the game without giving up when Snake is tortured by Revolver Ocelot, this way you will be able to save Meryl and get the "Bandana".
Save the game and start a new game, you will discover among your items the Bandana, equip yourself with it and you will be able to enjoy infinite ammunition with all weapons.
Cheats 2: Metal Gear Optical Camouflage
Complete the game by surrendering when Snake is tortured by Revolver Ocelot, this way you will not save Meryl and you will get optical camouflage.
Save the game and start a new game, you will discover optical camouflage among your items, equip it and you will be invisible to the soldiers.
Tricks 3: Metal Gear Solid Clothes
Complete the game twice by getting the different endings with their special items (see the tricks above). After beating the game the second time, save and start a new game, you will discover that Snake is hiding a tuxedo under the scuba gear.
Complete the game again with the tuxedo and when you start the game for the fourth time Snake will be wearing a ninja costume.
Note: Give in to Snake's torture the first time you beat the game to get the optical camouflage first, with this trick you will beat the game much faster the next time.
Cheats 4: Extreme Difficulty Mode
We unlock this difficulty mode by beating the game for the third time.
Tricks 5: Gray Fox from Red
Head to Otacon's laboratory dressed in the tuxedo and when Gray Fox appears he will be wearing a red outfit.
Tricks 6: Gray Fox to the rescue
When they lock Snake in the cell, just stick to the door and after a while Gray Fox will appear, smash the door and free you.
Note: This trick only works if you are playing on the easy difficulty mode.
Tricks 7: Meryl without pants
When you meet Meryl for the second time in the ladies' room in the Nuke building, quickly go to her changing room and you will discover her changing her clothes.
There is a second way to discover Meryl without pants:
Spy on Meryl through the vent when she is in her cell, exit the vent and come back in to spy on her 10 times in a row. You will discover her exercising, repeat this action several more times to see her performing different exercises and finally you will see her without pants.
Tricks 8: Red Meryl
If you stare at Meryl in first person she will turn red.
Tricks 9: Meryl hits you a cake
When you are with Meryl outside the bathroom just before the battle against PsychoMantis, you can shoot or hit her to make her chase you and finally when she catches up with you she will hit you with a cake.
Tricks 10: Mei Ling angry
Call Mei Ling over and over again without saving the game, there will come a time when she will stop talking to you and stick her tongue out at you.
Cheats 11: Defeat PsychoMantis easily
Before starting the battle with PsicoMantis the screen will turn black for a few moments, change the controller or joypad to the player 2 port during those moments and PsicoMantis will not be able to read your mind.
Tricks 12: Through the eyes of PsychoMantis
During the battle against PsychoMantis press Triangle to see through his eyes, this way you will know where he is when he becomes invisible.
Tricks 13: Konami
If you have a game of another Konami game saved on the same memory card (Memori Card) on which you have the game of Metal Gear Solid, PsicoMantis will mention the title of said game when it reads your mind.
Tricks 14: Sniper Wolf's bandana
Equip yourself with the Sniper Wolf scarf that Otacon will give you and you will prevent the wolves from attacking you.
Tricks 15: Wolf Urine
Before reaching the battle area against Sniper Wolf, you will find a cave where you will notice that a small wolf is following Meryl. Hit Meryl and the little wolf will attack you, but if you hide inside the box before it attacks you, the wolf will urinate in it.
By performing this trick by moving hidden inside the box, the wolves will recognize you as one of them and will not attack you.
Tricks 16: Play as Gray Fox
If you take all 43 photos of the Metal Gear Solid developers (as detailed in the trick above) you can start a new game playing as Gray Fox.
Cheats 17: Metal Gear Solid Ghosts
Throughout the game there are 43 hidden ghosts and these ghosts are the developers of Metal Gear Solid.
You can only discover them by photographing them with the camera and you will know if you have succeeded if the exorcise option appears at the bottom of the screen.

- In the mirror of the women's restroom.
- Nuclear Building B2, the corridor of bodies.
- On the world map in the control room.
- When Meryl is hit by the sniper, she photographs the blood.
- Underground base, at the tip of Rex's Rail Gun.
- In the corner of the elevator.
- At the warehouse waterfall.
- Photograph Metal Gear while you face him.
- After the second pillar of the Underground Passage.
- In the photo from ?Policenauts? from the laboratory. (It's another Kojima game)
- In the medical room, torture machine.
- In one of the warehouse containers.
- In the Canyon, after the water tank.
- On the water of the dock.
- In the other photo from ?Policenauts? from the laboratory.
- Heliport, on top of the building.
- Laboratory, in the glass windows.
- Altos Hornos, on the passera of the upper floor.
- Helipad, bottom corner. (Looking towards the sea).
- Photograph the guard urinating in the men's room.
- Canyon, in one of the rocks.
- Medical Room, in Los Gusanos.
- Heliport, in the sleeping soldier.
- Cave, in the reflection of the puddle.
- Armory, in one of the secret rooms hidden at the top.
- Nuclear Building B2, on the electrical floor.
- At the end of the ventilation duct.
- Communications Tower, going down the elevator shaft.
- Cave, in the first tunnel that must be crossed on all fours.
- A full-length photo of the Decoy Octopus (disguised as a DARPA boss) as soon as he died.
